Poetry Machine is an interactive webart project that allows users to interactively put together poems and interactive imagery. Poetry Machine uses the webform, a primary online communication method - as a point of departure for creating interactive poetry. The user can put together a poem using words from custommade webobjects, creating a unique sequence of words and sentences. Poetry machine is creates a printable - tactile poem from digital origins, and is accesible online as an elusive, ever-changing art form which uses the Internet as its primary material, a site specific art form bound to its own presence and impact on the internet. A prototype of Poetry Machine was developed during the Bergen Art Book Fair 2020. It functioned as an interactive installation that would output poems based words and sentences generated by a custom-made algorithm, controlled by the users. The prototype is visible here: http://mikrolabs.org/poetrymachineprototype Based on this prototype, we would like to extend this unique, custom-made algorithm that generates the words and imagery to a new algorithm capable of creating longer and more complex combinations of words, expressions and imagery, and create an online interactive installation that can be user controlled, combining specific user input and pre-existing, algorithm generated content
